It has been such a long journey over the past 15weeks here at Caroline Center & tomorrow will be of great relief to EVERYONE I’m sure. However, the relief isn’t one of happiness that “it’s all over”, but of the honor and pride that each one of us are filled with because of the accomplishment of completing such a Profound Program! To many, graduation will be both a happy & sad event… We are ALL happy to have been molded to professionals by such wonderful, powerful women that have pushed us so much because they believed that we had it in us..& they were RIGHT!

It may be sad because the major turning points to greatness in a lot of our lives begun here, at Caroline Center. Through adversity, feelings of defeat, or even losing friends/relatives, there was no other place that we all felt more safe with such a sense of serenity than here!

If I had a Genie that could grant me 1 wish, it wouldn’t be for wealth, fame, or anything of that nature, but it would be that every woman get the opportunity to go through this program. Not just for a future career, but to get a chance to find their true worth, & understand, as tought here, that as women we are the foundation of the future & that together ANYTHING is possible!

With that being said, Caroline Center, on behalf of the entire class 45(pharm-techs & CNA’s) we TRUELY thank you & are ever so greatful and honored to have experienced something of this magnitude! I wouldnt trade this experience for the World!

Today is finally a day of relief and excitement all at the same time. The CNA’s here at Caroline Center have found out where we all are going for our clinicals today! YEY! Its such a fulfilling feeling to see so many ambitious faces as I walk around today. My adrenaline is completely pumped as I anticipate the actual hands on experience/training in my future profession. This is one of the moments we’ve all been waiting for( graduation’s the next “biggie”)

So to all of the CNA’s GOOD LUCK where ever you’re going, be positive because we all know that we can do it. Push your nerves to the side and allow your experience to be a most memorable one.

As for Pharmacy Tech’s, GOOD LUCK to you all as well on your up coming exams & I wish you all the best on your internships also!

I want to solely focus today’s blog on Achievement! By definition, to acheive simply means “To perform or carry out with success; accomplish”, or to have conquered every single goal you have made in life. However, I feel differently. In my opiniion, to achieve could simply be something as small as just enrolling yourself into the specific program, school, etc. equipped to prepare you for your future aspirations. By doing such a small thing, you have already made the decision to take total control of your own life instead of allowing it to become apart of someone elses destiny. It may not be a huge achievement when compared to your individual long-term goals, but it is the foundation of the motivation you’ll need to assure you get to where you ultimately want to be in the future.

We have all proven this to be true here at Caroline Center by maintaining the same drive, determination, and focus that we walked into those doors with. By acquiring the knowledge from the staff on both workforce skills & life skills, it has aided in our decipline and has helped create structure that was need in a lot of our lives. So even though our journey is not completely over, we have still achieved a lot thus far.

As the days to graduation begin to dwendle down, the anticipation and excitement of being able to go out into the world and be apart of our desired professions fills us all! Although we have all individually had to endure a lot, and many of us have had unfortunate circumstances occur outside of Caroline Center, those of us that are still here have made a statement by doing just that. Some of us could have given up without even giving ourselves a chance to accomplish what we initially set forth to do, but being surrounded by such a persistently motivating and uplifting staff, it has made the impossible seem almost TOO possible for many of us. Bonds have begun to build with much possibility for potential long term friendships in the future.

The staff here at Caroline Center Staff should look at us women and be proud of themselves for doing such a great job in transforming us here, preparing us for the crazy chaotic world out there and helping us believe that we can all make a difference OR impact in this world in some way!

So today’s our “3/4′s Hoo-Rah Feast”! (YeY!) Both Pharmacy-Tech’s and CNA’s get to enjoy the celebration of successfully completing 3quarter’s of our program! Along with staff, we can all let go of our indiviual stress and just take out the time to appreciate how far we have all come. A day to embrace the loving, genuwine, and patient staff whom are motivationally contributing to our individual needs as attendee’s of Caroline Center. (Not to mention the entire staff prepared all of the festivities of the day) It just feels good to be suurounded by so many people that take so much pride in their jobs & even more pride in pushing us young women to do our best with great determination!

…and now the count down begins to the “Celebración”!

So this month has been a little “hectic” here at Caroline Center due to several days missed out because of the blizzardess conditions. However, the staff has still been able to reorganized schedules; devise new plans; as well as smoothly continue to run this program through such chaos. Although some of us were not as lucky to be able to bounce back as quickly, the staff was still considerate to those individuals and their specific situations/circumstances during the first week after the storm. Now, at week8, its as if we were never out for such a period of time. Although we have some things to make-up in our curriculum, we all are oding our best to arrive to where each of us need to be by week15.

I know that some of my fellow Caroline Center attendee’s are feeling great pressure during this time, which is completely understandalbe. So ladies lets ALL contiue to do, if not try to do our best by simply staying encouraged. KNOW that we all have come here with a mission or a goal & the only way to best assure your achievement is to STAY ENCOURAGED.

Never Give Up – February 2, 2010

We are now at the end of our first grading segment her at Caroline Center, and what a stressful ride it has been. However, the constant encouragement and “you can do it’s” from the staff has made it not as stressful as I know it could be for some. Despite the fact that the teachers here at Caroline Center have to do their job as our teacher’s, they are still sympathetic to our individual situations and try their best to do as much as possible to help us all! Here at Caroline Center I have already seen self-esteems built; confidence built; as well as what has the potential to be “life long friendships”. Because these past couple weeks have been a little stressful for many of us, I have decided to share a poem of encouragement to Never Give Up, by Mark Howard. I think this would alleviate some of the frustrations we all may be experiencing as of right now.

Never Give Up

                                                          I’ll never give up fighting till the end
                                                         If I fall along the way I’ll get up and try again

For today’s blog, I thought it would be a good idea to give you, the readers, some background information about your new Caroline Center Blogger. With that being said, here’s a brief synopsis about your blogger,Lashae Buie,”me”.

I am a 20yr old alumni of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School. I am also a mother of a 1yr old beautiful baby boy named Xavier whom I consider to be what I call “the highlight of my life”. I come from a pretty average size family that’s extremely loving and full of encouragement and means the world to me. Many people aren’t as lucky as I to be surrounded by such loving, caring & motivating people and for this reason I am forever greatful to have such a foundation. I am a very outgoing/outspoken person and very easy to get along with. For that reason, I try my best to only surround myself with positivity. I enjoy shopping, working with children, and more than anything I LOVE being a “mommy“! I am a very goal oriented person and my #1 dream in life, after graduating from Caroline Center, is become a registered pediatric nurse.

Recently, here at Caroline Center, a lot of my characteristics and goals have been extremly enhanced. Instead of just being motivated, I am now highly motivated; instead of becoming a registered pediatric nurse being just a “dream” of mine, I feel that now I can claim it as something that I will be. Despite the positivity that I absorb from my family, I feel that I,as well as all of the other ambitious women here at Caroline Center, we recieve that same warm, genuwine feeling when we’re all here. Being around such a phenominal & empathetic staff here at Caroline Center really empower’s me as a woman. So you see, even if all of us aren’t surrounded by the same love, or motivation outside of our learning center, we still are able to feel loved and cared about somewhere- and that place is here, at Caroline Center.

First Impressions of Caroline Center

It is now week 4 for us here at Caroline Center and ironically I am able to say that this has already been such an empowering as well as comforting experience. Here at Caroline Center you are able to feel comfortable just by simply being yourself. The staff here at Caroline Center’s mission is more than just to educate us women on the technical skills and other materials needed in order to be qualified for our desired career profession(s); it is also to aid in our individual transformations-from the person we came into the program as, to the evolved persons we will all be when we leave. Many of us came to Caroline Center with the intent to only recieve exactly what is needed to get into our specified career paths(CNA/GNA or Pharmacy Tech.). However, after being hear for four weeks, I’ve realized that you get so much more than expected out of this program.

Being at the Caroline Center, in my opinon, is like a “home away from home”. The training and educating is a main priority, but not any more than our well-being and abilty to deal with the stresses and obstacles that all of us either currently face, have faced, or will face out in the Real World. The goal here at Caroline Center is to prepare us for these types of things so than when staring them face to face, we can possess the ability to handle them with the most respectful and professional manorism. So far, within the four weeks of attending Caroline Center, I can say that I’ve learned that first impressions are the ones that matter the most and with the Life Skills acquired here at Caroline Center, that impression will be that of an immaculate one for anyone who has to come in contact with ANY woman who’s attended/attending Caroline Center.
